How we started.
LocalGuideChina began in 2018 when a group of friends realized that most tourists were missing the real China. They were seeing only what was in guidebooks, eating at tourist restaurants, and never experiencing authentic local life.
We decided to change that. Starting with just walking tours in Beijing, we shared our neighborhoods, our favorite foods, and our family stories. Word spread quickly.
Today, we're a team of 25+ passionate guides across 15 cities. We've welcomed over 10,000 travelers from 80+ countries. But we've never lost sight of our original mission: showing you the China we know and love.
